Host Business: Northern Territory Government, Department of Health - Alice Springs Hospital
Diandra is currently enrolled at Charles Darwin University for completion the of her Certificate III in Business Administration. She is working full time, hosted to NT Department of Health in Alice Springs.
Last year, Diandra completed the Aboriginal Employment Program (AEP). She gained a 12-month full-time employment contract as a Ward Clerk at the Alice Springs Hospital, as well as a traineeship through GTNT Group to complete her Certificate III in Business. As a young mum, it has been challenging for her to balance work and life while studying but said she has made the most of the opportunity.

What impact did your studies/work have on your life?
This course has had a big impact on me and helped me with my employment because it is very relatable and useful for my everyday tasks and duties as a Ward Clerk. My role is to provide essential, non-clinical administration support for all clinical staff on the ward. It also involves liaison for patients and public to receive the correct information while they navigate themselves through their journey while receiving medical treatment.
This qualification has taught me the basics in Business, but more importantly made me more confident and independent. This course gave me the motivation to push myself and to step outside of my comfort zone to reach my full potential.
True leadership isn't something that is limited to the workplace. I am a big sister and cousin, aunty and more therefore I am a leader and encourage my family and peers outside of work if they have a goal that they want to achieve, to not only believe in themselves but if you have that motivation and determination that anything is possible.
