Host Business of the Month - Frontier Marine Services

Frontier Marine Services have recently partnered with GTNT through our Power Careers Program. Frontier Marine Services offer high quality service specialising in marine electrical contracting as well as the supply and installation of marine electronics. Whilst their specialty is within the marine field, their  expertise cross over to a wide range of other applications to include trailers, cars, buggies, horse floats, food vans, caravans, and camper-trailers and their related electrical accessories. 
 

The Power Careers Program is supported by the Northern Territory Government Department of Trade, Business and Innovation. Fourteen female Apprentices are employed under the program which aims to assist in equal employment opportunity cohort into a skill shortage industry in the Northern Territory. 

Charlotte Franklin is one of fourteen females who commenced in the Program earlier this year, completing work placements with a few local Darwin companies before securing a full time apprenticeship with Frontier Marine Services. Charlotte will complete her Certificate III in Electrotechnology, with the training being provided by Charles Darwin University.

Although Charlotte has only recently commenced full time with Frontier Marine Services we are already receiving great feedback from her supervisor, advising that she is a valued team member. Charlotte enjoys working with the team at Frontier Marine Services. 

She says “They are so knowledgeable and it’s easy to understand things the way they teach me.” 

The most beneficial part of being involved in the Power Careers Program is “seeing all the different career paths available in this industry. I never thought I’d get to work with boats and now that I have it’s just blown me out of the water, I love it.”
