Host Business of the Month - Country Solar NT

Country Solar NT were established in 2013 and are a dedicated solar energy company who live and breathe renewable energy, not just an electrical company that dabbles in a bit of everything.  With 9 years experience in solar energy , and having experienced many changes in the industry, we have the   expertise to design and construct solar to meet individual customer needs.

Country Solar NT partnered with GTNT in  2018 when they commenced Margaret Bell as their Apprentice. Margaret is a Power Career Program participant completing her Certificate III in Electro- technology Electrician.

The Power Careers Program is supported by the Northern Territory Government Department of Trade, Business and Innovation. Fourteen female Apprentices are employed under the program which aims to assist in equal employment opportunity cohort into a skill shortage industry in the Northern Territory.

Country Solar NT found the Power Career Program beneficial by allowing them to connect with a group of job ready apprentices and the opportunity to  welcome Margaret into their team. They currently employ another apprentice whom is also completing a Certificate III in Electro-technology Electrician and hope to continue to contribute to the NT workforce through providing vocational education and training opportunities to local Territorians in both the trade and administration roles.

Country Solar NT’s Operations Manager say Margaret has fitted in extremely well into their team and is performing at a level much higher than they would normally expect form someone so new to the industry.

Margaret is very interested in the renewable energy area and would like the opportunity to learn more about other options such as tidal and wind turbines.
