Host Business of the Month - Schneider Electric
Schneider Electric has partnered with GTNT in August 2018 when they commenced Kimberly Graham as their Apprentice. Kimberly is a Powers Program participant completing her Certificate III in Electro-Technology Electrician. She is one of fourteen females who commenced this program in 2018, she completed work placement with different local companies before having the confidence to apply and secure full time employment with Schneider Electrics.
Schneider Electric has a global presence is over 100 countries, the Darwin office has approximately 20 staff members. They offer complete solutions to help optimize assets, people, equipment and plant, at every stage of their asset lifecycle: plan, install, operate, optimise and renew. Schneider Electric provide integrated efficiency solutions, combining energy, automation and software. The Power Careers Program is supported by the Northern Territory Government Department of Trade, Business and Innovation. Fourteen female Apprentices are employed under the program which aims to assist in equal employment opportunity cohort into a skill shortage industry in the Northern Territory.
Kimberly’s supervisor at Schneider Electrics advised that it is great to have Kimberly’s bubbly personality within the Darwin team. He also said that she is hard working and always puts the extra time, effort and attention to detail into completing any task. Kimberly has become a valued member of the team and continues to progress her knowledge and skills each day.
Kimberly has also been interested in understanding how things work and how they go together which lead her to apply for the Power Careers Program. She wanted a job that would keep her busy and let her feel accomplished and proud of herself. With the support, guidance and training that Kimberly receives from Schneider Electric’s she feels will be able to complete her apprenticeship and progress further in this industry.
